- History of the department
- Sector of the theory of functions, organized by Corresponding Member of Academy of Sciences USSR, A.F. Leontiev, who arrived in Ufa in 1971 with a group of his disciples (V.P. Gromov, V.V. Napalkov, Yu.N. Frolov), was the first mathematical division of the Department of Physics and Mathematics, Bashkir branch of AS USSR. When the department was reorganized into the Institute of Mathematics, the sector went into its composition as the Department of Function Theory.
