- History of the department
- The Department of Mathematical Physics was founded in 1981 by Alexey Borisovich Shabat. His themes, defined originally as the theory of higher symmetries and classification of integrable equations, gradually expanded to include methods of constructing asymptotic solutions of soliton equations, discrete integrable models and orthogonal polynomials. Now research in the department supported by RFBR, the program of the Presidium of RAS, RSCF grants. The department is headed by Prof. Ismagil Habibullin.
