Reviewing regulations in "Ufa Mathematical Journal"
All articles submitted to the journal are reviewed in accordance with the regulated procedure.
Leading experts in the field of mathematics are involved in reviewing.
Initially, registered articles are sent to one reviewer by the executive secretary of the journal.
However, if the subject of the paper is related to several areas of mathematics, the article may be directed to two or more experts. This is recorded in the register of the article, including the date of sending to the referee.
In some cases, a reviewer can be chosen by the editorial board according to nomination of the executive secretary, which is also recorded in the minutes of the meeting of the editorial board and in the register of the article.
Reviewing is anonymous, that is, the authors of articles are not informed of the name of the reviewer, except for cases when a reviewer requests to do so to establish contacts with the author.
The term of reviewing is controlled and usually lasts from 3 to 4 weeks from the date when the article was received. If necessary, a cover letter signed by the editor is sent to a reviewer together with the article.
When writing a review, the referee is recommended to use the "form of review for UMJ"
The recieved reviews and the date are recorded in registers of articles.
Copies of reviews are sent to the authors. Authors should take into account comments of the reviewers and make the corresponding corrections in the article or provide a reasoned reply to disagree with the comments of the reviewer.
The corrected article is considered by the editorial board again or is re-directed back to the referee and the final decision on it is made by the editorial board afterwards.
The final decision on all articles is made by the editorial board at its meeting after discussion of each paper, which is fixed in the minutes and in the registers.
The submitting date of an article is the date when the editorial board
receives the version of the article to make the final descision.
The editorial secretary informs the author about the decision (positive or negative) made by the editorial board.
In case of rejecting, the editorial board retains one copy of the paper and sends the author a reasoned refusal. Reviews are kept in the editorial office.
