The Sector of Function Theory, established by Corresponding Member of USSR
AS A.F. Leont'ev in 1971, was first sector in Division of Physics and
Mathematics, Bashkir Branch of the Academy of Sciences.
When the Institute of Mathematics with Computing Center was organized the
Sector was renamed to the Department of Function Theory. At present the head
of the Department is Corresponding Member of RAS, professor
Valentin Vasilievich Napalkov .
